Tulsa Police: Two Shot While In Their Car, Child Uninjured

TULSA, OK -- Two people were injured in a shooting Saturday afternoon, and police are searching for the suspect vehicle.

The shooting happened at about 4:30 p.m. near Peoria and 36th Street North. The victims were inside their car when a second vehicle pulled up beside them, according to officers with the Tulsa Police Department.

Police say gunmen from the other vehicle opened fire on the car, which had three adults and a four-year-old child inside. The driver and one passenger were shot. The child and another passenger were not hit.

The victims stopped at the Boys & Girls Club in the 3100 block of North Cincinnati to call for help. The victims received non-life threatening injuries. One was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the shoulder, according to police. Both were transported to a Tulsa hospital.

Officers are searching for the suspect vehicle. Police say the shooter's car was a late model silver mustang with black racing stripes, chrome wheels and an out-of-state license plate. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
