STROUD, OK – A car accident on the Turner Turnpike near Stroud killed a Shawnee teenager Monday. Kyle Lewis was returning from the All State Golf Tournament in Tulsa.
According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, Lewis went off the road, hit an embankment and then hit a bridge pillar. Troopers said Lewis was pinned in the vehicle for about 20 minutes.
Lewis won the 2008 Oklahoma 3A state championship while at Bethel High School. He was one of two Oklahoma nominees for the Wendy's High School Heisman.
Lewis had signed to play golf at the University of Oklahoma.
