OKLAHOMA CITY -- Oklahoma City emergency crews responded to two fatality hit and runs Saturday morning.
The first hit and run happened at about 6 a.m. on N.W. 36th Street at Indiana. When firefighters arrived on scene they found a car engulfed in flames and discovered the body of a woman in the wreckage.
A witness at the scene said the car was westbound on 36th Street when it was apparently involved in a collision with another vehicle. The vehicle then struck a tree in the median.
No other cars were at the scene when police arrived.
Emergency crews responded to the scene of a second fatality hit and run in far eastern Oklahoma City, this one involving a bicyclist.
Police say a recreational bicyclist traveling south on Midwest Boulevard, about a half mile south of Memorial Road, was struck and killed by a car.
The accident was reported by a passerby who noticed the victim and his shattered bicycle in the roadside ditch at about 8 a.m. Police have no eyewitnesses to this accident.
