MUSKOGEE, OK -- The president of the United States has nominated a Muskogee attorney to be the next U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma.
On Wednesday, President Obama nominated Mark F. Green.
In a statement from the White House, the president also named a nominee for U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of Indiana.
"Throughout their careers these individuals have demonstrated an unwavering to justice," said President Obama. "I am confident they will serve the people of Oklahoma and Indiana with distinction."
In the release, the White House says Green has served as an alternative judge to the city of Muskogee since 2006 and a public defender to the U.S. District Court in Muskogee since 1990.
From 1978 to 1982, Green served as assistant U.S. Attorney.
Green graduated from OU in 1975 and OU College of Law in 1978.
