TULSA, OK -- Tulsa homicide detectives want you to call 911 immediately if you know anything about Wednesday morning's murder of a young man in front of his wife and two-month-old child.
The murder happened during a home invasion robbery in the 600 block of East 27th Place.
Tulsa Police say they are just as sick of all this violence as the rest of us.
The robbers came into the home and hit and kicked the couple, while they were trying to shield their baby.
During the struggle a gun went off hitting 31-year-old Corey Johnson in the chest. He was taken to a Tulsa hospital, where he died in surgery.
Police officers firmly believe someone knows who is behind this robbery, because three suspects were there and anytime there is more than one bad guy, people tend to talk.
Corey Johnson's landlord tells The News On 6, Johnson was a hard working man who took care of his family and they had lived in the house for about a year. They had given their notice to move out by July 5th because they'd found another place to live.
I talked to a few neighbors who told me they didn't hear anything until Tulsa Police began canvassing the neighborhood for witnesses.
Police say they have little to go on right now, since the robbers had their faces covered, so they need help.
"Every police officer on the department is concerned, alarmed, upset and want to do something about this so a 911 call will get you an interested ear. We'd rather have the information before they do another one. 24 hours a day, we're concerned and will act on your information," said Tulsa Police Sgt. Mike Huff.
We've learned the victim has previous drug and firearms convictions, his most recent was in 2006. That's not in anyway to say, his death is any less tragic, just that this crime may not be random.
You can always call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS and if you're worried about someone knowing you called.
That line is answered in Canada so there's no way anyone in Tulsa will know it was you.
Corey Johnson's death is the 28th murder this year in Tulsa.
