TULSA, OK -- The News On 6 is proud to team up with the Bank of Oklahoma to help encourage children to read. That's why we're holding a book drive and trying to collect 20,000 books by June 30th.
"We think getting books into the hands of kids when they're young will help encourage literacy rates which increases all kinds of things, the over all health of the community," said Jesse Boudiette, Bank of Oklahoma. "It helps curb some of the poverty cycles that we see, we think it's a really integral part of making our community stronger."
You can take any new or gently used book, for children 6 months to 12-years-old to any Bank of Oklahoma branch in the state through the end of the month.
