TULSA, OK -- The News On 6 and the Tulsa Drillers are trying to Strike Out Hunger.

With the donation of a canned food item, you can get $2 off a ticket -- up to four tickets.

News On 6 Meteorologists Nick Bender and Alan Crone helped collect the food on Saturday. It all goes to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, which said the number of families needing help is way up.

Alan Crone threw out the first pitch at Saturday night's game.

But, don't worry there's still time to get in on the fun.

"We've got lots of games going. We're gonna be striking out hunger five times from now until the end of the season. The next event is July 4th," said Mike Melega, Drillers General Manager.

News On 6 anchor Tara Vreeland will be there helping collect food and she'll even throw out the first pitch at that game.
