PORUM, OK -- Water customers of the Porum Public Works Authority are being advised to boil their water.
The Muskogee County community notified customers on Wednesday, saying increased turbidity in the water leaving the community's water plant has increased the potential for contamination.
The authority is advising customers to bring water to a full rolling boil for one minute before consumption, food preparation, dish washing, teeth brushing, wound care and bathing infants.
The boil order advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
The authority says they are working to rectify the situation.
