TULSA, OK -- Church members donned hard hats, along with their Sunday finest, at the First Presbyterian Church.
The church, located at 709 South Boston, is celebrating two major milestones. This year marks the church's 125th anniversary and the congregation broke ground Sunday on renovation to the Bernsen Life Community Center.
"It's been here for 95 years, this facility behind me, and like any older facility, it needs to be reworked. This congregation is determined to serve the common good, in Jesus name, for the next 100 years. We're very happy today," said James Miller, Senior Pastor.
Pastor Miller says the new center will give the church more space to serve at risk children and families.
He says the church has accomplished a lot in the last 125 years, and the congregation is committed to doing even more in the next century.
