Okmulgee Police Investigate Possible Homicide At Super 9 Motel

OKMULGEE, OK -- Okmulgee Police are investigating a possible homicide after a man was found dead inside a Super 9 Inns motel room Thursday.

Chief Joe Prentice said his office receive a request for a welfare check on tenant of the motel which is located on U.S. Highway 75. When they arrived, officers discovered the body of 31-year-old Larry Joe Brown inside a room.

The cause of death is pending with the State Medical Examiner's Office, but investigators are treating it as a homicide.

"Officers spent the day yesterday following up leads and conducting interviews," Chief Prentice said. The investigation is continuing.
