MUSKOGEE, OK -- Some Green Country men learn what it's like to walk a day in a woman's shoes - literally. Wearing anything from frilly flip-flops to pink high heels, men from all over Muskogee marched through downtown Wednesday.
They're raising money for the WISH program or Women in Safe Homes which helps victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. The sheriff says sometimes it takes desperate measures to get people's attention.
"It takes a lot of extra things to raise money to take care of this program," said Muskogee County Sheriff Charles Pearson. "That's the reason we're willing to wear high heels and paint our toe nails and do whatever we gotta do."
WISH has been helping women in Muskogee for more than 20 years, and the sheriff says it's been a huge success.
