TULSA, OK -- Students from the Tulsa Girls Art School Project, Inc., will transform a 35-foot Tulsa Transit bus into moveable art during Mayfest on Saturday, May 15, to kick off the Art in Motion bus painting project.

Beginning at 11 a.m., Tulsa GAS students will paint the Downtown Tulsa skyline on the Transit bus as it is stationed in Mayfest's KidZone at the H.A. Chapman Green.

The purpose of Art in Motion is to raise awareness of Tulsa Transit and Tulsa GAS, and to inspire people to see art and beauty in everyday objects.

Patrons of Mayfest can watch the girls paint the Art in Motion bus from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 15, and admire the finished product until Mayfest ends on Sunday, May 16. After this, the Art in Motion bus will run its normal bus routes around town, displaying the artwork the students created all over the city.

Mayfest KidZone hours are 11 a.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, May 13, through Saturday, May 15, and 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 17. For a more detailed schedule, visit the Mayfest website.
