TULSA, OK -- EMSA says a 56-year-old man died in a wreck after striking two utility poles on South Lewis Thursday afternoon.

Tulsa Police say the accident happened at about 2:50 p.m. Thursday in the 4700 block of South Lewis.  It was unrelated to an accident that caused a huge backup on I-44 at about the same time.

Video from SKYNEWS 6 showed that the man's SUV knocked down two utility poles before coming to rest on a side street near Lewis.

The transformers on one of the poles caught fire and caused a small grass fire.

PSO crews had to replace the poles and electrical lines.

EMSA did not release the driver's identity.

That section of Lewis was not reopened to traffic until 1 a.m. Friday.
