TULSA, OK -- Officials with the Tulsa Air and Space Museum apologize for traffic delays at last weekend's QuikTrip Air and Rocket Racing Show.
In a news release, TASM says the event was an incredible success, but it wants to extend its apology to those who waited in traffic for hours.
TASM says many chose to walk to the event after having left their vehicles alongside the road. In the future, officials say they will develop a better traffic management program.

In addition, the Tulsa Air and Space Museum says patrons who had tickets but were unable to attend because of the traffic problem will be able to use them to visit the museum for free on Saturday, May 22nd and Sunday, May 23rd.
The museum says each ticket holder who returns one will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets on American Airlines to any destination in the continental U.S.
TASM says on the bright side of the traffic problem, the number of people wishing to attend the event demonstrated just how much aviation means to this community.
Officials say the City of Tulsa has demonstrated that it wants to be involved in laying the foundation for the future.
Oklahoma Astronaut John Herrington, who heads the effort to "Land the Shuttle" for the City of Tulsa, made it clear it has NASA's attention.
"This event demonstrates the thirst for aviation and aerospace in Tulsa. It is amazing to see the aerospace enthusiasm from the city which has been so instrumental in the success of NASA's human space flight," said John Herrington.
