STILLWATER, OK -- A 52-year-old Stillwater man is in the Payne County jail accused of threatening to fly an airplane into the Payne County jail over the weekend.

The sheriff's office said Layne Kent called their office early Saturday morning and made the threat.

The Payne County Sheriff's Office dispatched a deputy to his apartment in the 800 block of North Main and the deputy arrested him.

The deputy said Kent was drunk at the time of his arrest.

Kent was booked into jail on a felony complaint of a terrorism hoax.

Read the court affidavit.

During his arraignment Monday in Payne County District Court, a judge entered a not guilty plea on Kent's behalf with a bond hearing set for Tuesday afternoon.

If found guilty of the charge, he could face life in prison.
