TULSA, OK -- Ash coming from Iceland's volcano is slowly disappearing after that ash cloud canceled flights in Europe for days, stranding passengers around the world.
Things are getting back to normal, but passengers were forced to spend hundreds of extra dollars and that has a lot of people thinking about traveler's insurance.
Purchasing travelers insurance ahead of a summer trip may be a smart thing to do.
There's so many things that can go wrong, that can keep you from taking your trip.
It's pretty common for people to invest a lot of money in their trip which is usually a vacation.
And with the madness that happened in the UK that delayed flights, would it surprise you that more people are checking out traveler's insurance? The point of having it is to help you plan ahead.
AAA Oklahoma travel agent Barbara McCarty says there are different types of travelers insurance out there.
Some are based on the age of the person traveling and how much money is spent.
"There are policies out there that will allow you to cancel for any reason. But usually you only get a full cash refund if it's a medical or a family emergency reason," said Barbara McCarty.
Whatever insurance company you end up with for travelers insurance, the company should provide you with a list of cancellation reasons and its policy.
