BROKEN ARROW, OK -- Broken Arrow Police say 32-year-old Douglas Polk, Jr. confessed to the abduction and rape of a 5-year-old girl known as the Broken Arrow Angel and to the rape of an 11-year-old relative.
The Broken Arrow victim, who is now 7, watched the news report at noon on Thursday.
She was holding a stuffed monkey who helps her through tough times. When Polk's picture came on TV, The News On 6 was told, she studied his face, then began giggling - such a carefree sound that her family was confident Polk was the right man.
Broken Arrow Police were called to the home of Douglas Polk, Jr. last Friday. An 11-year-old relative had said he'd raped her twice last month, so officers removed Polk from the home and helped the victim's mother get an emergency protective order.
The mother wrote on the order that Polk beat her and molested the girl. Police say Polk was back at the house four hours later, hitting his wife and yanking away the phone while she tried to call 911.

Officers found him hiding in a shed and arrested him.
Court records from 2001 show Polk was arrested in Tulsa for pushing his wife into a wall and hitting her in the head because she refused to turn over their baby's medical card. Documents from 2006 show he was convicted of felony assault for running over a man who was trying to repossess Polk's car in Owasso.
Records say that after last week's arrest Polk admitted he raped the 11-year-old girl last month. They say he also admitted sexually assaulting that same girl back in 2006, when she was only 7.
Those admissions led officers to question Polk about the unsolved sexual assault of a 5-year-old girl in Broken Arrow from 2007, when the child was taken from her front yard and dumped eight miles away.
Records show Polk also confessed to that crime and gave officers details that had not been released to the public.
Polk is married and has four children: two girls and two boys, ages 11, 10, 2 and 3-months.
Police will look through their tips to see if anyone qualifies for the $150,000 reward, because they did get tips naming Polk, but never had enough for an arrest.
The Broken Arrow Angel's family says they've been praying for this arrest for the past two years, seven months and two days.
They are very appreciative of the community's support and prayers.
