TULSA COUNTY -- Burglars broke into the home of Tulsa Police homicide Sergeant Mike Huff. It happened Wednesday while Sergeant Huff was in Florida, teaching.
Burglars took a 2003 red Chevy S-10 pickup he bought just last week. It has four doors and a matching bed cover.
They kicked in his back door and took family heirlooms, including antique chests containing silver, jewelry from Huff's late mother, and guns passed down from Huff's grandfather.
"The things my parents left to me are really important to me," said Sgt. Mike Huff with the Tulsa Police Department.
The thieves also took police gear.
"Every commemorative badge ever made, I've bought two, for each of my children," Huff said.
"I think I've lost five badges, a wallet badge with an ID card that someone could use, a police uniform, my gun belt - no reason anyone would want those items unless they want something sinister to happen."
The theft happened between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. Wednesday. Anyone with information about the break-in or the stolen items, should call 911.
