TULSA, OK -- Going green paid off for customers at a local recycling center, in more than one way.

In celebration of Earth Day, the folks at Advanced Metal Recycling at 2300 N. Lewis paid a premium price of 70-cents per pound for aluminum cans Thursday.

It was a one-day only price and plenty of people lined up to cash in.

"There's people that actually collect cans all year long and today is their day to come in and collect and cash in if you will on their efforts that they made all year long," said Jeff Ray, Advanced Metal Recycling.

We're told Advanced Metals had three lanes of traffic backed up onto Lewis for much the day.

The company also served their customers free lunch.
