TULSA, OK -- Almost 50,000 people are expected to attend several major events in the Tulsa area Friday and Saturday.
The biggest of the events is the QuikTrip Air and Rocket Show at the Tulsa Air and Space Museum on the north end of Tulsa International Airport on Saturday.
Officials are expecting crowds in excess of 20,000 for the show.
The QuikTrip Air and Rocket Show will feature a demonstration by the Rocket Racing League, aerobatic demonstrations, military fighter jets and World War II war birds.
Tulsa Police say Port Road (36th Street North) between 74th East Avenue and Mohawk Park Road and Sheridan Road between Port Road and 30th Street North will be closed from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you are looking for parking, police suggest you exit U.S. Highway 169 or Mingo Road at 46th Street North and go west to the Tulsa Air and Space Museum.
Police say there will be NO street or right of way parking allowed.
In downtown Tulsa, the BOK Center and Tulsa Convention Center are expecting over 25,000 people to attend several events on Saturday.
The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation is holding a promise ball at the convention center. Oklahomans for Equality are also holding a gala at the convention center.
And Tulsa 66er's are playing in game 1 of the finals at 4 p.m.
Meanwhile, the BOK Center will host a sold-out Nickelback concert Saturday evening.
Officials say all of the downtown events are new and are expected to have a $2.3 million boost to Tulsa's downtown revitalization efforts.
