TULSA, OK -- Thursday was the 40th anniversary of Earth Day, a day set aside for people around the world to do their part to help keep their environment healthy.
There are many things you can do at home to help, from swapping your light bulbs to eco-friendly ones, to recycling old material, are just a few things can add up to big change in keeping the world green.
In downtown Tulsa Thursday, there was a celebration of Earth Day, called the Enviro Expo and it took place at 4th and Main.
About a dozen or so vendors set up booths and exhibits to show how people can make simple or bigger changes to help the environment
One of the groups who participated in the expo was Sustainable Tulsa.
Corey Williams with Sustainable Tulsa says there are a lot of programs residents can get involved.
"My recommendation is pick the one that sounds like you can do it. That sounds fun for you and your family. Accomplish it, feel good, celebrate it and go on to the next one," said Corey Williams.
Sustainable Tulsa has a "Green Directory" catalog with a lot of programs for you to pick from.
