MCCURTAIN COUNTY -- An Edmond man drowned after falling off the edge of his boat Saturday night in McCurtain County, according to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

OHP reports Wayne Roberts, 37, of Edmond, was fishing on a farm pond with his 8-year-old son when he lost his balance and fell off the edge of the boat.

Troopers say Roberts could not swim and drowned.

They say there were no floatation devices in use or on the boat.
