TULSA, OK -- Thursday is 'Tax Day' across Oklahoma and the rest of the country and millions are still filling out federal and state tax forms as the midnight deadline approaches.
The only United States Post Office in eastern Oklahoma open until midnight is the one at the Tulsa International Airport. The post office is located on Cargo Road, behind the Hilton Garden Inn at the airport and again it will be open until midnight.
Elsewhere, the downtown Tulsa post office at 4th and Denver, will be open until 8 p.m. Thursday.
If you cannot get your federal and state tax forms completed in time, you will need to file for an extension with the IRS and the state of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Income Tax Extension Form
It's important to note, the extension is for more time to file, not to pay. The IRS says you still need to estimate your tax liability and pay any balance due when you request an extension.
