Vinita Man Sought By SE Kansas Authorities

VINITA, OK -- A Vinita man is being sought by Kansas authorities after he failed to appear in a Kansas courtroom on several charges including assault and impersonating a police officer. 

The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office in southeast Kansas says 34-year-old Gregory Sawin, who lists his occupation as a bail recovery agent, was involved in an incident in June of last year. 

After he failed to appear for a court hearing on the charges, a judge issued a warrant for Sawin's arrest.

The sheriff's office has listed Sawin on its web site as a 'most wanted' suspect.
