TULSA, OK -- A 42-year-old man is in the Tulsa County jail after he told a TSA employee at a Tulsa International Airport checkpoint Sunday night he had a bomb and would detonate it.
According to a report from Tulsa Police, Timothy Hathaway walked into the security checkpoint area of the airport at about 8:20 p.m. Sunday.
He then told a TSA employee he had a bomb in a blue gym bag he was carrying. Police say he also told the TSA he had a detonator and would explode it.
Hathaway then ran from the checkpoint but was apprehended a short time later in the airport.
A search of his gym bag turned up nothing and airport officials say there were no disruptions because of the incident.
He was taken to the Tulsa County jail and booked on a complaint of threatening a violent act with the use of an explosive.
He remains in the Tulsa County without bond.
