CATOOSA, OK -- All lanes of northbound and southbound 193rd East Avenue are open at the Interstate 44 junction, following a weekend project to shift eastbound I-44 traffic onto a section of a new bridge and lanes, and to remove the old eastbound I-44 bridge, the Oklahoma Department of Transportation reports.
This work finished Sunday, more than half a day ahead of schedule.
Drivers are still asked to use caution on eastbound I-44, as traffic adjusts to the slight shift onto the new lanes at this junction.

ODOT reports the overall widening project continues at this junction, and will widen I-44 from four lanes to eight, replace two bridges that are structurally deficient and functionally obsolete and greatly improve the entrance/exit ramps. The work also includes widening 193rd East Avenue to six lanes at the interchange. The project began in August 2009, and is expected to be complete in early 2011.
