TULSA, OK -- Water line work will affect parts of two major streets in Tulsa.
The work begins Wednesday and will affect South Yale Avenue between East 31st and East 36th Streets, as well as South Harvard Avenue between East Fourth Place and East 11th Street.
Traffic on South Yale will be limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane on the west half of Yale. The city of Tulsa says this arrangement will be in place for three to four months during continued waterline work and then street rehabilitation.
It's part of a street rehabilitation project that also includes East 41st Street between I-44 and South Sheridan Road. The project also includes a traffic signal upgrade at 41st and Sheridan.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has contracted with Paragon Contractors L.L.C. for this $2,342,847 project. Completion is scheduled for September 2010. This project has received funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009 but was first approved by Tulsa voters in the 2005 General Obligation Bond Issue.

In the project involving South Harvard Avenue, work will extend from East Fourth Place to East 11th Street as crews replace more water line. Traffic will be limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane for four months.
The city of Tulsa says this project also includes replacement of damaged concrete pavement as well as traffic signal upgrades for the intersections of Harvard Avenue with 11th Street, Admiral Place, First Street and Fourth Street.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has contracted with McGuire Brothers Construction for this $2,422,898 project. Completion is scheduled for November 2010, around Thanksgiving.
This project has received funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009. It was first approved by Tulsa voters in the 2005 General Obligation Bond Issue.
