Tulsa Prison Escapee Nabbed Outside Muskogee Creek Nation Casino

TULSA, OK -- A Tulsa prison escapee was arrested just outside a Creek Nation casino early Friday morning in Muskogee. 

Steve Joe Brown walked away from the Riverside Transitional Center on Charles Page Boulevard on February 14th.

The U.S. Marshals issued a news release Thursday concerning Brown.

An off-duty Muskogee Police officer was at the casino when he spotted Brown. That officer notified security who in turn notified Creek Nation Light Horse Police. Light Horse Police officer along with Muskogee police stopped Brown's car just outside the casino and arrested Brown.

Tulsa Police say Brown physically assaulted a female clerk while robbing the QuikTrip at 3108 South 129th East Avenue in Tulsa on March 4th.

Brown is now in the Muskogee County jail.
