TULSA, OK -- Several weekend construction projects across the city of Tulsa may cause headaches for motorists.
More roadwork along I-44 could change the way you get around Tulsa this weekend.
Construction crews will shut down one lane of westbound I-44 from Lewis Avenue to Riverside Drive as part of the widening project Friday. No ramps will be closed, but drivers should expect delays. The lane is expected to re-open Saturday evening.
Farther east on I-44, the left lane of east and westbound I-44 will be closed at the 161st East Avenue junction from midnight Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Additionally, all lanes of 165th East Avenue underneath I-44 will be closed as part of this project.
Traffic on South Sheridan Road at East 41st Street will be limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane from 7 a.m. Saturday, March 13, until 7 a.m. Monday, March 15 for concrete work over a newly installed waterline.
And South Sheridan Road will be closed just south of East 90th Street for relocation of a 6-inch waterline Saturday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 p.m.
This project is related to the widening of the intersection of East 91st Street and South Sheridan Road.
