TULSA, OK -- A mother and father of four are in a Tulsa hospital following what appears to have been a drive-by shooting, according to Tulsa Police.
The shooting happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Sunday in the 1800 block of North Atlanta Avenue.
The two victims, a mother and father, suffered gunshot wounds and were transported in critical condition, but are expected to survive their injuries, according to Officer Jason Willingham, Tulsa Police.
Willingham said it is early in the investigation, but that it appears this was a drive-by shooting. Willingham said numerous shots were fired with at least two guns. Shell casings were found on the ground and bullet holes were visible in the home's siding.
The couple's children were inside the home at the time of the shooting.
They were not injured.
"Any shooting is disturbing, but anytime you have a home that's occupied by four children, all toddler aged and smaller, it is extremely disturbing and hopefully we can find those responsible for the shooting and bring them to justice," Willingham said.
Officers are trying to determine a motive for the shooting.
Willingham said at least four people were seen leaving the scene in a gold or light tan, four-door 2000 Grand Am.
"Bullets don't have names on them, you know, and these bullets will go until something stops them," Willingham said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 596-COPS.
