SKIATOOK, OK -- The state auditor's office says an audit of the Skiatook Public Schools has found almost three-quarters of a million dollars in wasteful spending.

State Auditor Steve Burrage will hold a news conference Tuesday afternoon regarding the release of an investigative audit.

In a news release, Burrage says the waste was the result of the Skiatook school superintendent and school board's utilization of a middle man to purchase janitorial supplies and security systems.

Burrage says Skiatook Public Schools paid an Oklahoma City businessman a "per item" markup ranging from 100% to 500%.

The news conference will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the state capitol in Oklahoma City.

NewsOn6.com is planning to Live Stream the news conference.
