TULSA, OK -- Tulsa area students were put to the test Saturday as they battled bots during a FIRST Robotics scrimmage.
This year, students were asked to design a bot that could play soccer and even score a goal.
After hours of hard work, the students took their bots to the Tulsa Technology Center for the scrimmage. It was the last test run before a regional competition on March 25.
"We always say it's the hardest fun you'll ever have and there's all kinds of scholarships offered to students through FIRST who are on these teams. There's millions of dollars in scholarships, too," said Marie Pfaff, Robotics Team Mentor.
Pfaff says the competition also teaches students about problem solving, engineering and design skills.
Teams from Broken Arrow High School, Jenks, Inola, Tulsa Memorial, Booker T. Washington, Tulsa Tech, Tulsa Tech (Broken Arrow Campus) and Bixby were in attendance.
