PRYOR, OK -- The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is investigating the death of a Mayes County jail inmate early Monday morning.
Mayes County Sheriff Frank Cantey says 38-year-old Keith Puckett was in a three-man cell when the other two inmates notified jail personnel that Puckett was having what appeared to be seizures.
Medical help was dispatched to the jail and Puckett was taken to the Mayes County Medical Center in Pryor where he was pronounced dead.
Puckett's body has been sent to the state Medical Examiner's office in Tulsa.
Sheriff Cantey says the ME's office says it will take about 6 to 12 weeks to get toxicology results.
Puckett was serving a one year sentence on charges of DUI, attempting to elude and resisting a law enforcement officer.
