TULSA, OK -- Two people were killed in a head-on collision in the 4800 block of West 41st Street South Wednesday afternoon. The wreck involved a Jaguar and a BMW.
The Oklahoma Highway Patrol released an accident report Wednesday evening on the fatal wreck, which happened in southwest Tulsa at about 1 p.m. Troopers say the Jaguar was southbound on the South Gilcrease Expressway spur and the BMW was northbound when they collided.
According to the trooper's report, the 2002 Jaguar was passing a line of cars when it crossed the center line, striking the BMW.
Dead are the female driver of the Jaguar and her male passenger.
Drivers from both vehicles were transported to Tulsa hospitals. The driver of the Jaguar died at the hospital, according to Tina Wells of EMSA.
23-year-old Jordan Scruggs of Stillwater, the driver of the BMW, was transported to a local hospital with a broken leg.
A passenger in the Jaguar was pronounced dead at the scene. The Highway Patrol has not yet released the victims' names, pending identification and notification of next of kin.
The car also caught fire and the Berryhill Fire Department was called in to extinguish the flames.
The OHP says it had received a call shortly before the wreck happened about a vehicle driving recklessly in the area.
