Utility Crews From Across Midwest Headed To Oklahoma

TULSA, OK -- Utility crews are staging at the Tulsa County Fairgrounds as Public Service Company of Oklahoma prepares to deal possible power outages from the winter storm moving into northeast Oklahoma. 

PSO officials say 1,000 people are being dispatched to Oklahoma from Missouri, Illinois, Ohio, Indiana.  Most of the crews and their trucks should be in Oklahoma by Friday morning.

PSO is also staging crews in Okmulgee and McAlester.

Meanwhile, Tulsa area stores like Home Depot at 91^st and Delaware are swamped with people buying items to help them get ready for the winter storm.

Customers are purchasing ice melt, gas cans, propane bottles and ice scrapers.

This Home Depot has already sold 120 portable power generators since Wednesday, but has another shipment of 60 arriving Thursday afternoon. 

A number of other stores across Tulsa are also seeing portable power generators fly off the shelf.
