TULSA, OK -- Officials broke ground Monday afternoon on a new health center in north Tulsa, honoring the late Wayman Tisdale.
University of Oklahoma leaders, community leaders and Tisdale's family were on hand for the ceremony.
The OU Tisdale Specialty Health Center will be built at 36th Street North and Hartford.
The $20 million, 50,000 square foot building will serve patients from north, east and west Tulsa.
According to the University of Oklahoma, studies show significant health disparities in services between those parts of the city and mid and south Tulsa.
