TULSA, OK -- Officers with the Tulsa Police Department say they discovered meth making materials and some product after a single-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon.

At about 3:00 p.m., officers say a vehicle crashed into the center median westbound on the Broken Arrow Expressway.

Following the crash, officers say a Good Samaritan was driving by and stopped to see if he could help the stranded motorists.

That's when police say 41-year-old Kenneth Youngblood asked for a ride away from the scene.

Youngblood grabbed some meth making materials and got into the vehicle, according to police.

"Once the Good Samaritan saw what was going on, he told the guy 'no.' He didn't want to be involved, he must get out of his car," said Sgt. Mike Williams, Tulsa Police Department. "Our suspect at that time said, 'hey, I'm cooking meth, I need to get out of here.'"

Officers say the Good Samaritan was with three other friends and they refused to drive away.

"I guess if they stopped to help them and they didn't know what was going on, I guess they could be gullible enough to take them away. However, these guys were a lot smarter than the suspects thought," said Sgt. Williams.

Officers arrested Kenneth Youngblood on complaints of endeavoring to manufacture a controlled drug, child endangerment and obstruct/interfere with a police officer. A 17-year-old female was also taken into custody.

An 18-month-old was treated by EMSA and taken to a Tulsa hospital.
