UNDATED -- About 1.5 million strollers are being recalled for a design defect that has caused a few children to lose their fingertips.
The Graco strollers were sold at AAFES, Burlington Coat Factory, Babies "R" Us, Toys "R" Us, Kmart, Fred Meyer, Meijer, Navy Exchange, Sears, Target, Wal-Mart and other retailers nationwide from October 2004 and December 2009.
Graco says they've received seven reports of children putting their fingertips in the canopy hinge while it was being opened or closed.
Five children have had a fingertip amputated.
This recall involves Graco Passage™, Alano™ and Spree™ Strollers and Travel Systems.
Graco recommends consumers should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and contact Graco to receive a free protective cover repair kit.
