Two Arrested In Wagoner County On Neglect, Abuse Complaints

WAGONER COUNTY -- The Wagoner County Sheriff's Office has arrested two adults on complaints of neglect or abuse by a caretaker.

Michael Lee Gilmore, 39, and 42-year-old Katie Darlene Gilmore were arrested Friday.

On Wednesday, the sheriff's office responded to a home north of Wagoner to assist OKDHS Adult Protective Services with an investigation. Upon entering the home, a 56-year-old woman was found alone in her bedroom, the sheriff's office reports. The woman was unresponsive and was found in a recliner, wearing an adult diaper, according to the sheriff's office.

The sheriff's office reports the bed next to the recliner was covered in feces and the victim was found to have numerous sores on her body. The bedroom was also covered in trash, according to the sheriff's office.

EMS was called and the woman was transported to the hospital, where she was admitted.
