TULSA, OK -- A water pipe break Saturday night left some Tulsa motorists temporarily stranded when water flooded a residential street near 49th and Peoria. A pipe broke in the front yard of a residence at 49th and Peoria at about 11 p.m. causing water to pool up 2-3 feet deep in the neighborhood street.
There was about an 8-foot hole in the front yard as water bubbled out all night, according to News On 6 photojournalist Kyle Kabrick.
Some motorists attempted to drive through the high water and were stuck. They were either towed or pushed out of the area.
City crews came out to fix the pipe Sunday morning, Kabrick said. Much of the water had turned to ice by that time.
