TULSA, OK -- A street rehabilitation and waterline replacement project will begin Monday, January 11 on Harvard Avenue between East 11th Street and Admiral Place. The contractor will start the project by replacing a 16-inch waterline between Sixth Street and 11th Street.
Traffic will be limited to one northbound lane and one southbound lane for four months.
In addition to waterline replacement, the project includes replacement of damaged concrete pavement. Traffic signal upgrades are included for the intersections of Harvard Avenue with 11th Street, Admiral Place, First Street and Fourth Street.
The Oklahoma Department of Transportation has contracted with McGuire Brothers Construction for the $2,422,898 project. Completion is scheduled for November 2010, around Thanksgiving.
The project has received funding through the American Recovery & Reinvestment Act of 2009. It was first approved by Tulsa voters in the 2005 General Obligation Bond Issue.
