Muskogee Man Found Dead Was To Face Sentencing Wednesday

MUSKOGEE, OK -- A Muskogee man was found dead in the 1500 block of Ash Tuesday.

Muskogee police officers identified the man as 39-year-old Robert Eugene Thomas.

Thomas ran for Muskogee Mayor unsuccessfully in 2008.

He was scheduled to enter a plea on Wednesday on five misdemeanor counts and one felony count of Obtaining Services By Fraud.

Thomas was also scheduled to face sentencing Wednesday on three felony counts of Making A False Bomb Threat.

At this time, officers don't suspect any foul play, however they are investigating the death and are waiting on the state Medical Examiner's report.
