TULSA, OK -- Another Family Dollar store in Tulsa was robbed at about 8:30 p.m. Friday, police say. Two men in dark clothing came into the Family Dollar in the 8200 block of East 21st Street and told the cashier there to lock the door, according to Officer Heather Weakley with the Tulsa Police Department.
"They instructed her to go to the safe and told her to lock the doors," Weakley said. The female employee was told to prevent customers from entering the store while the thieves were at work.
"Two separate times people pulled into the parking lot and were turned away," the officer said.
The two suspects appeared to be familiar with the layout and staffing of the store, Weakley said. The men took cash from the registers and from a safe.
"They put something to her back; she thought it was a weapon," Weakley said. The men also threatened to kill the cashier if she tried to run or did anything to signal someone for help.
The suspects escaped with the cash, she said. There have been multiple Family Dollar robberies, and police believe there may be a connection, Weakley said.
No one was injured in the robbery.
