TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Transit is hoping riders will help them collect warm winter coats for homeless Tulsa teens.
During this month, bus riders will be encouraged to donate a new or gently-used coat and receive two free bus ride.
The coats will be turned over to Youth Services of Tulsa to give to homeless teens.
"We partner with Youth Services of Tulsa for the Safe Place Program and heard they were in need of winter coats for homeless youth. Our customers are very generous and we know we will get a lot of coats through this drive. We're asking our customers to go through their closets and find a warm winter coat to donate to Youth Services or arrange a coat drive in their office, neighborhood or church," said Tulsa Transit Assistant General Manager Cynthia Staab.
In a news release from Tulsa Transit, Youth Services of Tulsa needs Adult sizes XS—XXL .
Coats can be dropped off at Tulsa Transit's main office at 510 South Rockford or at either of the bus stations at 319 South Denver or 7952 East 33rd Street during customer service hours.
The customer service attendant will give a free 2-ride fare card to anyone who donates a new or gently-used coat.
