TULSA, OK -- Some East Tulsa students are giving back during the holidays.
Students from East Central High School donated about 70 coats to the Giles Coats for Kids drive. It started off as a student council idea and grew from there.
Student leaders say they were surprised at how eager other students were to help.
"We really wanted to set an example for the other stores, the other schools in Tulsa Public, because we feel that's a need, to be a part of the community," said Stacy Rotert, a senior at East Central.
People who want to help can donate a coat at any Yale Cleaners. They'll clean it and get it to Catholic Charities who'll make sure it gets to someone in need.
