TULSA, OK -- Quick action by Tulsa police led to the arrest of three men they say fled the scene of a first degree burglary overnight Sunday.
Just before midnight, police say three men kicked in the front door of an occupied residence in the 900 block of South Toledo. One of the suspects hit the resident over the head with a flashlight, according to a Tulsa arrest report.
The men took property, including shoes and designer jeans, then fled the residence. Police say a fourth man waited behind the wheel of the suspects' vehicle.
An officer saw the men run from the residence and leave the area in a Black Tahoe. Tulsa police officers attempted a traffic stop in the 1200 block of South Vandalia, but the driver refused to pull over.
The pursuit continued through neighborhoods until the Tahoe entered the Broken Arrow Expressway westbound lanes. The suspects then led police to north Tulsa where they finally pulled over and gave up in the 700 block of North Country Club Drive.
Kevin Darnell Thompson, 20, who police say drove the getaway car, was arrested on complaints of first degree burglary and eluding police. Derrick James Buchanan, 25, and Dejaun Devone Alexander, 22, were booked on complaints of first degree burglary.
A fourth man, who has not been identified, escaped on foot.
