Mayo Hotel Has Fundraising Gala To Celebrate Reopening

Tulsa, OK -- An icon of Tulsa style and glamour celebrates its rebirth tonight.

The News On 6's own Terri Hood was Wednesday night's M.C. for the grand opening celebration at the Mayo Hotel.

The gala was also a fundraiser for Tulsa Opera and the Oklahoma Center for Community and Justice.

The Mayo was Oklahoma's tallest building when it first opened in 1925 and hosted superstars like Clark Gable, Elvis Presley and President John F Kennedy.

 Now, after a 40-million-dollar renovation, it is re-opening as half hotel, half lofts.
