OKMULGEE, OK -- Okmulgee Police arrested a man with a pellet gun inside a Walmart store Wednesday evening.
The Okmulgee Police Department received a report of a man with a gun at the Okmulgee Walmart Supercenter at about 7:40 p.m. Wednesday.
Officers say they confronted 18-year-old Sean Davis of Okmulgee who they say was armed with some type of handgun.
Officers realized that the handgun was a pellet pistol and ordered him to surrender.
Police say Davis refused to obey the officers' commands so they had to forcibly take him into custody by using pepper spray.
According to police, Sean Davis had taken a pellet pistol from a display inside the store and used it to attempt a robbery.
Witnesses reported Davis pointed the weapon at several different people, including a female clerk, whom he took hostage and demanded money from, but she escaped.
Police say Davis then pointed the weapon at another clerk and ordered that person to activate the store intercom, which he used to announce that he had a gun and would begin shooting if anyone attempted to call police.
But someone did call police.
After his arrest Davis was booked into the Okmulgee County jail on complaints of first degree robbery, kidnapping and petit larceny.
