TULSA, OK -- Tulsa Police are investigating an incident in which two armed suspects forced their way into the home of a neurosurgeon in the 1800 block of East 27th Street shortly before noon Tuesday.
A housekeeper told officers she answered the door and two suspects armed with a gun forced their way into the home. She said they held a gun to her head during the robbery.
A nine-month-old baby was in his rocker while the robbers ransacked the house, according to police.
Officers say they got away with two flat screen TVs, video game equipment and jewelry.
The woman and child were not injured in the incident.
Detectives say the home was targeted because it’s in a high-income area, but they rarely see stranger home invasions in broad daylight.
"We don’t see a lot of home invasions like this, like you just said, brazen, like this one is. Usually home invasions are there for a reason. There's some nefarious reason why the victim is targeted. It does not appear to be the case in this,” said Sgt. Dave Walker, Tulsa Police.
Police say the homeowner was in the middle of surgery at the time.
Police are still looking for the suspects. Detectives believe they drove off in an older model, blue compact car.
