UNDATED -- Nine new Oklahoma specialty license plates were made available Sunday.

The nine new license plates are:

  • "National Weather Service"
  • "Operation Iraqi Freedom"
  • "In God We Trust"
  • "Make-A-Wish Foundation"
  • "Autism Awareness"
  • "Folds of Honor"
  • "South Central PGA Foundation"
  • "Putnam City High School"
  • "OKC Thunder"

For an additional $8, drivers can order a specialized license plate.

There must be 100 reservations made for a particular license plate before it will be created, State Rep. Scott Martin said.

Oklahoma first offered personalized tags in 1967, with any combination of letters and numbers on the plate and either University of Oklahoma red or Oklahoma State University orange. Oklahoma issued its first graphic license plate in 1981. The first special license plates, for Purple Heart recipients and Pearl Harbor survivors, were issued in 1988.
